Box Score Erie, Pa. - The Millersville women's lacrosse team saw its second four-game winning streak come to an end Friday afternoon in a 20-8 loss at Gannon.
Millersville (8-5, 3-5 PSAC) was never able to take the lead against the Golden Knights. The eight-goal output was its second lowest total of the season.
Brooke Fisher,
Hannah Vogel, and

Lauren Mateja recorded her sixth double-digit save effort with 10 stopped shots.
Gannon (9-5, 5-3 PSAC) has now beaten Millersville in each of the last three seasons. The Golden Knights received 11 combined goals from Jess Fugate (6) and Stevie Lombardoni (5). Keeper Margaret Maslyn tallied eight saves in the victory.
After a goal by Henderson seven minutes into the game the Marauders found themselves down just one goal, with the score 3-2. Unfortunately for Millersville, that began an 8-0 run by Gannon over the next 22 minutes of play.
Fisher stopped the Golden Knights' momentum by scoring on an assist from
Ella Callahan with just two seconds remaining in the half to close the Golden Knights gap to 11-3 at the break. It was Fisher's 41st goal of the season and she is now just the fourth Marauder in the past five years to surpass the 40-goal mark in a single season.
Gannon continued its strong play into the second half and outscored the visitors 9-5 in the final frame to finish with the 20-8 win.
With the loss the Marauders fall to the seventh position in the PSAC with just three games remaining. The top six squads reach the conference tournament, which makes tomorrow's matchup with the fourth-best team in the PSAC--Mercyhurst--crucial for the Black and Gold. Game time is slated for 11 a.m. in Erie, Pa.
