Kutztown, Pa. – Playing their first match since a 9-0 rout of Cheyney, the Marauders couldn't come away with a victory Friday afternoon at Kutztown falling to the Golden Bears, 6-3.
 
In doubles play, Millersville got a victory from the tandem of Elizabeth Wagner and Tori Davis, who defeated Kutztown's pairing of Rachel Grula and Tori Zander, 9-8. Melissa Plowman and Kelsey Waite lost their doubles match 8-2, and Alexandra Heller and Nicole Daacke also dropped an 8-4 decision.
 
The Marauders got wins in singles play from both Daacke and Davis. Daacke topped Zander, 6-1, 6-1, while Davis took care of Emily Troast by scores of 6-3, 6-4. Plowman, Waite, Wagner and Taleff couldn't come away with wins in their matches.
 
The women's tennis team's record drops to 4-10 with Friday's defeat. Millersville returns home to the McComsey Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon when the Marauders take on Bloomsburg in PSAC action. That match begins at noon.
