Coleman, Marauders Rip Ship to Advance to PSAC Quarterfinals

Box Score Millersville, Pa. - After Anthony Coleman scored 53 points in Millersville's first two wins over Shippensburg this season, the Raiders had to be zeroed in on stopping the Marauder junior. Whatever the Raiders threw at Coleman made no difference, though. In Millersville's first home PSAC Tournament game since 2007, Coleman scored a career-high 36 points to push the Marauders into the PSAC Quarterfinals, 79-69.

Coleman shot 13-of-18 from the field and poured in 30 points in the second half alone. It was his third career 30-point game, and he's scored in double-figures in each of his last six games against Shippensburg. He is averaging better than 20 points per game in those games. With the win the Marauders earn their first PSAC Tournament victory since 2008 and play at West Chester Tuesday evening.

Millersville struggled to get its offense in gear early and trailed 17-13 with six minutes left in the first period. Millersville, however, scored on its next eight possessions. The Marauders closed the first period on 22-7 run and took a 35-24 lead into the break.

Shippensburg never got closer than seven the rest of the way. Every time the Raiders inched within single-digits, Coleman was there to keep them at bay. He threw down three dunks in the final 20 minutes, shot 10-of-12 from the field and 10-of-11 from the line. Elijah Obade recorded his PSAC-leading 12th double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Nate Bollinger chipped in 10 points. Shippensburg point guard Reggie Charles was coming off of a 19-point, 10-assist performance against Millersville on Wednesday, but Millersville frustrated him into three points, one assist and seven turnovers.

Millersville scored 24 points off of 21 Shippensburg turnovers. Millersville committed a season-low eight turnovers after totaling 20 or more in three consecutive games.

It was the fourth time that Shippensburg and Millersville met three times in a season and the second time that Millersville won all three games.
