Box Score Millersville, Pa. -Â No. 17 East Stroudsburg opened the second half on a 13-2 run and ran away from homestanding Millersville Saturday afternoon, 96-68.Â
East Stroudsburg (8-0, 4-0 PSAC East) stayed unbeaten by scoring the most points by a visiting team in Pucillo Gymnasium since 2001. PSAC East preseason player of the year Whis Grant scored 24 to lead four players in double figures. Millersville (2-4, 1-2 PSAC East) was paced by
Jalen Lester's 14.Â
East Stroudsburg started quickly, racing to a 19-point lead with 4:11 left in the first half. The Marauders, however, closed the period on a 15-5 run that featured eight points from Lester. He also sank two free throws with no time remaining after an ESU player was whistled for a technical foul. The 47-38 margin was widened quickly, though.Â
After
Josh Jones scored four points in the first 1:25 of the second half, East Stroudsburg rattled off a 10-0 run. The Warriors' hot shooting (51.6 percent in the second) coupled with Millersville's offensive struggles (32.1 percent), helped push the lead to as many as 29.Â
Millersville shot 33.8 percent from the field and made 7-of-27 threes, marking the first time in six games that the Marauders failed to make at least nine threes. ESU made 34-of-67 shots including a blistering 12-of-22 from behind the arc.Â
Jones scored a career-high 11 points, and
Anthony Coleman added 10 off the bench.Â
Millersville takes a break during finals week but returns to the court on Dec. 17 and 18 in a back-to-back and Indiana (Pa.) and Seton Hill.Â
