Box Score East Stroudsburg, Pa. - Sophomore goalkeeper
Olivia Webber saved a season-high eight shots on Tuesday evening against East Stroudsburg, but the Millersville women's soccer team fell to the Warriors, 1-0.
Millersville (5-5-1, 4-4-1 PSAC) has now lost five-straight matches after opening the season without a defeat in their first six. East Stroudsburg (6-3-1, 6-3-1 PSAC) scored directly off of a corner kick early in the second half and Warrior goalie Brittain Wagner made five saves in her 15th career shutout.
Warrior Madeline DeVico tallied the game-winner in the 58th minute when her corner sailed into the back of the net.
East Stroudsburg outshot the Black and Gold 16-9 and had a 7-5 advantage in corners.
The Marauders were held to fewer than 10 shots for just the fourth time this season. Freshmen starters
Savannah Hall and
Kaylie Cutlip combined for five shots on the day, while five different players fired a target on the goal frame.
Millersville hosts West Chester on Saturday with a 2 p.m. start.
