Men's Soccer Earns 400th Victory with Shutout of ESU

Box Score East Stroudsburg, Pa. - Three different players scored for the Millersville men's soccer team as it topped PSAC rival East Stroudsburg 3-0 on Tuesday night to pick up the program's 400th win.

The Millersville men's soccer program began in 1960 and has seen five coaches at the helm of the program over the past 43 years. Current head coach Steve Widdowson is responsible for 87 of the 400 wins.

Millersville (7-2-1, 4-0 PSAC) remaines unblemished in the conference with the win over the Warriors. Senior Andrew Dukes tallied the game-winner in the 16th minute and recorded his third career goal against East Stroudsburg in the process. Sophomore Jeramey Robbins knocked in his fourth goal of the year in the second half and pushed his team leading point total to 14. Midfielder Anthony Fratini finished the scoring for the visitors with his first score of the season in the 88th minute. Goalkeeper Brad Benzing was stout between the pipes, making five saves in his third shutout of 2013.

East Stroudsburg (1-7-2, 0-4 PSAC) was stifled by the Marauder defense, generating just nine shots in the game and was held without a corner kick. The Warrior defense did its best to hold off the Millersville attack, but the Marauders were just too much for the home team.

Millersville compiled 21 shots and eclipsed the 20 shot mark for the fourth time of the year. The Marauders have not been held to fewer than 10 shots in any of their contests this season.

The 13 corners taken by the Black and Gold was one shy of their season-high. In the second game of the year Millersville created 14 corner kicks against West Virginia Wesleyan.

The Marauders welcome West Chester on Saturday in a PSAC battle between two of the top three teams in the conference. Millersville is currently in third place with 12 points while the Golden Rams are No. 2 with 13 points. The Marauders are the only team in the PSAC without a loss in the conference. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. at Chryst Field at Biemsderfer Stadium.
