Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team was at McComsey Tennis Courts facing Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon. The Lakers controlled the dual and shut out the Marauders, 9-0.

Marauder Elizabeth Wagner took on Caroline Bristol in No. 1 singles but fell (6-1, 6-2). No. 2 singles featured Millersville's Tori Davis against Courtney Thompson with Thompson taking the victory (6-0, 6-0). The Black and Gold's Alexandra Heller matched up with Sarah Baich in No. 3 singles with the visitor coming out on top (6-0, 6-0). Mercyhurst recorded its third consecutive shutout in No. 4 singles when Marauder Stefanie Fisher fell to Annie Baich (6-0, 6-0). Millersville's Heather Grove lined up against Taylor Wedlake in No. 5 singles with the Laker winning (6-1, 6-0). The Black and Gold's Maggie Karr then fell to Katelyn Caniford in No. 6 singles (6-0, 6-1).

No. 1 doubles pitted Wagner and Davis against Bristol and Sarah Baich with the away team taking the decision (8-1). Heller and Fisher battled Thompson and Annie Baich in No. 2 doubles but lost (8-1). Karr and Grove rounded out partner-play in No. 3 doubles by falling to Caniford and Hubbard (8-0).

Millersville travels to Lakewood, N.J. on Oct. 10 to take on Georgian Court beginning at 3:30 p.m.
