Marauders Drop Home Dual to Fighting Scots

Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team returned home Friday afternoon to take on the Fighting Scots of Edinboro University. The Marauders found the win column in No. 4 singles, but dropped the match 8-1.

Millersville's Elizabeth Wagner battled Oranza Carrillo in No. 1 singles but fell (6-2, 6-0). No. 2 singles featured Marauder Tori Davis vs. Raquel Holiday. Davis took the first set but lost in three (3-6, 6-3, 12-10). The Black and Gold's Alexandra Heller faced RyAnne' Baldwin in No. 3 singles with the visitor taking the match (6-0, 6-0).

The lone win for Millersville came in No. 4 singles when Stefanie Fisher defeated Nevena Kulina (7-5, 6-7, 10-4). Heather Grove was beat by Megan Cowling in No. 5 singles (7-6, 6-1). Maggie Karr was shutout by Lydia Browne in No. 6 singles (6-0, 6-0).

Wagner and Davis matched up with Carrillo and Holiday in No. 1 doubles with the away team taking the victory (8-3). Heller and Fisher were paired up for No. 2 doubles against Baldwin and Kulina and nearly pulled off the win but fell (9-8). No. 3 doubles pitted Grove and Karr against Cowling and Browne, but Edinboro took the decision (8-1). 

The Marauders will take on Mercyhurst Saturday morning beginning at 10 a.m. on their home courts.
