
Swimming Team Secures First Win of Season at Juniata

Juniata, Pa. - The Millersville women's swimming team picked up its first dual meet victory of the season with a 114-71 win over Juniata on Friday night.
Millersville finished first in six events on the evening. Both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay teams picked up top finishes for the Marauders.
In the first event of the evening the 200-medley relay team of Brigid Kavanaugh, Bree Link, Rachel Malampy, and Amanda Thomas swam to a first place finish with a time of 2:09.85.
Adriana Rodriguez took home the best time in the 200-yard freestyle when she touched the wall in a time of 2:19.94. Malampy later swam the meet's top time in the 100-free with a time of 1:02.99.
Sophomore Grace Magerr placed first in the 400-free with a 4:47.08 finish.
Freshman Bree Link has made an immediate impact on the women's swimming team. Against Juniata, Link swam the best time in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 1:20.70.
The meet's final event saw another Marauder foursome come away with a first place result. Kavanaugh, Thomas, Malampy and senior Rebecca Anderson combined to swim the 200-free relay in 1:54.80.
Millersville has a week off before hosting California (Pa.) next Saturday in Pucillo natatorium. The dual meet with the Vulcans will begin at 1 p.m.
