Women's Soccer Ties With Mercyhurst

Box Score Erie, Pa. - Millersville and Mercyhurst's women's soccer teams battled for 110 minutes Saturday, combining for 48 shots but just two goals, and the PSAC clash ended in a 1-1 tie.

Millersville (3-4-2, 1-4-2 PSAC) out-shot the Lakers (4-5-1, 1-5-1 PSAC) 25-23, taking the most shots since totaling 29 against Goldey-Beacom on Aug. 31, 2009. Felicia Cramer's first-half goal was the only shot that managed to get past Mercyhurst's goalkeeping tandem of Ellie McDougall and Brooke Morrison, though.

Cramer scored her first goal of the season 19:29 into the game. Marauder keeper Olivia Webber recorded a career-high 11 saves in the game and helped her team stay in the lead until the 56:42 mark when Sara Hawksworth scored on a penalty kick.

Neither team could break through for the rest of regulation or in either of the two, 10-minute overtime sessions. Webber made two saves in the first OT and one more in the second, but Millersville managed only one shot on goal in the extra 20 minutes.

The tie was the second in the last three games for the Marauders. Cramer totaled a team-high seven shots including three on goal. Sara Cressman also put two shots on goal.

Millersville continues a three-game road swing on Oct. 3 when it travels to Kutztown for a 3 p.m. start.
