Bloomsburg, Pa. – On the first day of the PSAC Championships at Bloomsburg University, Millersville had one competitor in the multi events--senior
Zach Kohler, who began his quest for an All-PSAC nod in the decathlon. The Marauders also had four runners in the men and women's 10,000-meter run events.
Halfway through 10 events, Kohler stands at 3,338 total points. His best finish was in the shot put, placing fourth with a heave of 11.34 meters. In his first event, the Green Lane native finished 10
th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.73 meters.
The next event was the long jump, where he tied for fifth, leaping 6.31 meters. After his highest-placed finish in the shot put, Kohler tied for fourth in the high jump at 1.89 meters. In his final event of the day, Kohler finished fifth with a 400-meter dash time of 52.41 seconds.
In the 10K,
James McBride just missed an All-PSAC finish, placing fourth with a time of 31:19.76. Following McBride from the men's team were
Connor Veres and
Zach Mains. Veres placed 14
th, coming in at 32:35.86 and Mains took 16
th with a time of 33:02.54.
Sarah Mulvey was the only runner for the women's team, placing seventh and clocking in at 39:19.51.
Tomorrow's action sees all the field events take place as well as the relays. Finally, the preliminaries for all of the short-distance sprints are on Friday as well before everything wraps up on Saturday with the short- and mid-distance finals taking place.
