Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team swept the doubles matches and rolled to a 7-2 win over PSAC East foe West Chester Saturday at McComsey Tennis Courts.
Millersville (5-10, 3-2 PSAC East) jumped over West Chester (8-9, 2-3 PSAC East) in the division standings with the win.
The Marauders' strong play started in doubles where the No. 1 team of
Melissa Plowman and
Samantha Prager improved to 10-5 on the season with a 9-8 win over Ali Fetter and Brittany Counts.
Kara Fisher and
Kelsey Waite teamed for an 8-4 win in the No. 2 spot, and
Elizabeth Wagner and
Alexandra Heller rolled to an 8-2 win at No. 3.
Plowman and Prager notched straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively. Plowman improved to 9-6 with the win. Fisher notched her second win of the spring with a 6-3, 6-0 win in the No. 3 spot. At No. 6 singles,
Anna Ageyeva topped Rebecca Thiel, 8-6.
Millersville closes PSAC East action on on Tuesday, April 10 at East Stroudsburg.
