Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team defeated Shippensburg by an 8-1 score Saturday at McComsey Tennis Courts.

The Marauders (4-9, 2-1 PSAC East) earned its second PSAC Eastern Division win of the season after sweeping doubles and winning five of six singles matches.

In doubles, the No. 1 duo of Samantha Prager and Melissa Plowman as well as the No. 2 team of Elizabeth Wagner and Kelsey Waite blanked their Shippensburg opponents for 8-0 wins. Prager and Plowman boosted their record to an impressive 9-4. Anna Ageyeva and Alexandra Heller won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Plowman cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 1 singles spot. The win bumped her record above .500 to 7-6. Prager, Waite, Wagner and Ageyeva followed suit with straight-set wins.

Millersville improved to 31-23 all-time against Shippensburg and has now won 15 in a row since 1996.

The Marauders host Kutztown on April 3.
