Box Score Millersville, Pa. - Mansfield's star freshman Joe Bell scored a career-high 34 points to lead the Mountaineers to a 94-66 win over Millersville Saturday in Pucillo Gymnasium. The win was Mansfield's first road win of the season and its eighth straight overall against Millersville.
Mansfield (9-15, 6-14 PSAC) scored the most points in regulation by any visiting team in Pucillo Gymnasium since Mountain State totaled 96 in 2002.
With 13 points and 11 rebounds,
Elijah Obade recorded his 10th double-double of the season.
Jaymes Miller led Millersville with 19 points.
Mike Seibert, the only four-year player on Millersville's roster, produced 17 points with five 3-pointers in his Pucillo Gymnasium swan song.
Mansfield hardly looked like a team that had gone 0-10 on the road to start the season. It scored 27 points on 19 Millersville turnovers. 13 of those turnovers were created by Mansfield steals. Bell, with 34 on 13-of-20 shooting, scored more points against Millersville than any other player this season. He also pulled down 11 rebounds to complete the double-double.
The score was 28-24 in favor of Mansfield with 7:22 left in the first half. The Mountaineers ripped off an 18-4 run to close the half, though, and Millersville never recovered.
