Box Score Clarion, Pa. - The Millersville men's basketball team played its most complete game of the season Sunday, blasting homestanding Clarion 84-57 for its fifth consecutive win and 2-0 start to PSAC play.
The 27-point margin of victory was the largest in a road game since defeating West Chester by 30 in 2008, and the Marauders have won its first two league games for the first time since the same season.
The fifth consecutive win was a dominating effort from start to finish. Millersville (5-2, 2-0 PSAC) shot 58.5 percent from the field and 9-of-21 from 3-point range while holding the Golden Eagles (2-3, 1-1 PSAC) to 34.5 percent shooting and 2-of-9 shooting on threes.
The Marauders have now held four of its last five opponents to fewer than 60 points but has also averaged 78.25 points per game.
Larry Grant followed Saturday's 31-point effort with 21, giving him four 20-plus point games this season.
Elijah Obade scored 19 for the second consecutive day, sinking all eight of his field goals. He also blocked a game-high four shots.
Obade's layup 31 seconds into the game gave Millersville a lead it would never surrender. A
Larry Grant 3-pointer seven minutes later put Millersville on top 20-4. The lead was extended to as many as 23 in the first half.
There was no let up in the second period for the Marauders. Back-to-back threes from
Brandon Brown and
Nate Bollinger near the three-minute mark pushed the lead to 34 at 80-46.
Grant and Obade received plenty of help as 11 Marauders found the scoring column.
Anthony Coleman and
Jaymes Miller scored eight, and Brown added seven, making 2-of-3 3-pointers.
Millersville hosts non-conference foe Goldey-Beacom Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
