Box Score Millersville, Pa. - USciences defeated reigning PSAC Champion East Stroudsburg by 15 points on Saturday, but on Sunday, Millersville hammered the visiting Devils 72-34, surrendering the fewest points in 62 years and scoring its widest victory margin since 2006.
Millersville, now 2-2 with back-to-back wins this weekend, held the Devils (1-4) to 10-of-45 (.222) shooting and forced 21 turnovers. Those turnovers generated 23 points for the Marauders, who last gave up no more than 34 points in 1950 against Mansfield. The Marauders were much more efficient on the offensive end Sunday, shooting 51 percent from the field and 10-of-22 from three after shooting just 31 percent in Saturday's win over Wilmington.
Larry Grant led the charge, drilling 4-of-5 threes for 15 points.
Xavier Mumford produced a career-high in points (14) and rebounds (9). 13 different Marauders saw action in the game and 10 of them scored. Freshman
Danny Rodriguez hit 3-of-4 threes for a career-high nine points.
Elijah Obade totaled nine points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
USciences' only lead came at 3-2 after a three-point play from Garret Kerr at the 18:42 mark of the first half. The Marauders reeled off a 26-6 run to extend the advantage to 19 on a three from Rodriguez with 6:25 left in the first half. A 17-point halftime lead (33-17) quickly grew as the Marauders scored the first 11 points of the second half. Nine of those points belonged to Grant, who hit two threes and converted a three-point play in the stretch.
Rodriguez gave the Marauders' its largest lead at 41 points with 1:24 left.
Shofolarin DaSilva scored 15 points for USciences.Millersville improved to 7-1 all-time against USciences and avenged an 87-71 loss from a year ago.
Millersville hasn't won three-straight games since starting 2009-10 3-0 but tries to do just that on Tuesday evening at Pucillo Gymnasium against Penn State Harrisburg. Tip is 6 p.m. Fans can listen live on
