No. 20 IUP Takes Care of Marauders

Box Score Indiana, Pa. - Indiana (Pa.) showed Millersville just why it is the two-time defending PSAC Champion and ranked No. 20 in Division II Saturady evening. The Crimson Hawks roared out to a 54-25 lead at the half and cruised home for an 81-56 win.

IUP (10-2, 7-1 PSAC) made 21-of-31 field goals and 7-of-9 threes in the first half to build an insurmountable lead. Millersville (3-9, 1-7 PSAC) led 13-12 on a layup by Larry Grant, but five consecutive Crimson Hawk possessions ended in scores, and they built a seven point lead within minutes.

With IUP's red-hot shooting, the lead continued to grow and Julian Sanders' 3-pointer inside the final minute of the half built the lead to 29. IUP led by as many as 32 in the second half. Despite shooting  48.9 percent from the field, Millersville had no answer. IUP scored 22 points off of 14 Millersville turnovers.

C.J. Scott led all Millersville scorers with 13 points, and Grant added 10.

Millersville begins play against PSAC Eastern Division opponents on Wednesday with a trip to rival Cheyney. Game time is 8 p.m. MSBN will provided live coverage.
