Millersville Gets Key PSAC East Win

Box Score

Kutztown, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team was impressive Thursday, defeating PSAC East foe Kutztown by an 8-1 score. The win was key as the Marauders make a push for the PSAC Tournament.

With the win, the Marauders improved to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in league play. With only two duals remaining in PSAC East play, the Marauders pulled even with Kutztown in the standings. The top three teams from each division make the postseason, and West Chester, which is next up on Millersville's schedule, is 2-1 and tied for second.

The Marauders swept the doubles matches with Samantha Prager and Melissa Plowman winning at the No. 1 spot by a 8-5 count. Kaeley McCabe and Shauna Powers won 8-2 in the No. 2 flight. Millersville picked up the win at No. 3 doubles by default.

In singles, Plowman, Prager, McCabe and Kelsey Waite all won in straight sets.

The Marauders travel to West Chester Friday for a pivotal PSAC East dual.
