
Thomas, Rhyner Compete at Mondschein Multi

Kutztown, Pa. – Millersville track and field sent Brendon Thomas and Jess Rhyner to Kutztown University Thursday to compete in the Mondschein multi-event. Through day one both have several top-five finishes.
In the decathlon, Thomas currently has 3,270 total points through five events on day one. He made day one and impressive one, placing in the top five in each event. Thomas' best event was the long jump in which he reached 6.83 meters to take first place earning 774 points. He took second in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 11.47 seconds.
Rhyner placed in the top five in two of the first four events of the women's heptathlon on the first day. She took second place in the high jump, reaching a distance of 1.52 meters to earn 644 points. Rhyner finished fifth in the shot put, putting it 8.73 meters. After day one she has a point total of 2,208.
There are no standings through day one, but final results will be available after the completion of day two. Check back tomorrow for final results.
The Millersville track and field teams will also begin competition at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic tomorrow.
