Men's Tennis Bounces Back With Win Over Ashford

Hilton Head, S.C. - The Millersville men's tennis squad ended a two-match slide Wednesday afternoon by defeating Ashford, 8-1.

Millersville improved to 1-2 in the spring and 5-2 overall. It also handed Ashford (9-3) just its third loss of the year.

Ashford won its only point at No. 2 doubles, but Drew Slocum and Preetham Moras cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, and Ryan Knarr and Henry Ben notched an 8-2 triumph in the No. 3 slot.

The Marauders dominated singles competition. Moras quickly dispatched Alvaro Merino, 6-0, 6-1. Slocum topped Carlos Pico at No. 2 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-1. Donald Swantko easily defeated Moises Hernandez, 6-1, 6-0. At No. 5 singles, Ben won without surrending a single game. Knarr and Corey Garnier also picked up singles victories.

Millersville returns to the Hilton Head courts Thursday against Northern Kentucky.
