West Chester, Pa. - For the Millersville men's basketball team, Hollinger Field House could be renamed Hollinger Field House of Horrors. For the third year in a row, Millersville was run off the court by the homestanding West Chester Golden Rams, and Saturday's 76-48 defeat stung even more considering the PSAC Tournament implications that were on the line.

The 28-point defeat was Millersville's (10-13, 5-7 PSAC East) worst of the season and the loss not only dropped it to 5-7 in league play, it elevated West Chester (14-10, 5-7 PSAC East) into a tie in the standings. Millersville entered the day in a three-way tie for the final playoff spot but East Stroudsburg downed Kutztown 69-68 and Cheyney beat Bloomsburg, putting three teams at 6-6 and five teams firmly in front of the Marauders.

In its last three trips to Hollinger, Millersville has been outscored by a total of 77 points and an average of 69.3-43.7. The Marauders have no broken 50 in any of their last three games in the building.

Now 1-10 on the road, Millersville made only 12 field goals (12-of-50) and two three pointers. Nearly half of the team's points came at the line, where it hit 22-of-31. Freshmen Jaymes Miller and Mike Holley led the way with 12 and 10 points respectively.

West Chester pounded the Marauders inside, holding a 42-18 edge in the paint, totaling 14 second chance points and 17 points off turnovers.

Millersville managed to keep the game close through a sloppy first half in which it shot 5-of-22 and West Chester shot 10-of-31. The Marauders trailed 29-23 at the break, but West Chester opened the second on a 10-1 run. Millersville scored four points in the first 5:15 of the half.

Lance McDowell scored 13 of his game-high 15 points in the second half.

Millersville returns to Pucillo Gymnasium on Wednesday to host Shippensburg. Senior Night festivities preceed the game.
