ABOUT THE GAME
· The road hasn't been friendly to the Marauders this year, and on Saturday, they travel to Mansfield for a PSAC Eastern Division clash. Millersville suffered an 80-64 setback at Cheyney on Wednesday, dropping its road record to 1-8. The loss ended a two-game winning streak and dropped the Marauders to 4-5 in league play. Mansfield is coming off a convincing 80-66 road win at East Stroudsburg. That moved the Mountaineers to 6-3 in the PSAC East.
· The PSAC Eastern Division is a jumbled mess with three teams tied for the fourth and final playoff spot. Bloomsburg is third but is only a game up on Cheyney, ESU and Millersville and two games in front of West Chester and Shippensburg. While Mansfield is in a more comfortable position for the PSAC playoffs, it is just a game behind Kutztown for first in the East, and is ninth in the NCAA Atlantic Region poll.
· Millersville controls the all-time series with Mansfield, 79-53, but the Mountaineers have had their way with the Marauders in recent years. Mansfield is winners of five in a row including a 75-55 win in the first meeting of 2011. Four of the last five, however, have been decided by fewer than nine points. Only three players on Millersville's roster have played in Decker Gymnasium and only Mike Seibert and Bernard Brown have played their more than once. Last year, Seibert averaged 13.5 points against Mansfield but scored just three on 1-of-3 shooting in the first meeting this year. Brown has faced Mansfield five times and his numbers aren't stellar either. He's averaging just seven points and five boards. He totaled two points and three boards in the first meeting of the season.
· Brown turned in a career performance against Cheyney with 18 points and 15 blocks. He also blocked four shots. He now ranks 14th in the PSAC in rebounding (6.6) and third in blocked shots (2.0). His 138 career blocks ranks fourth all-time at Millersville and just 25 behind the school record and 11 behind third place. He's on pace to finish the season with well over 50 blocks, which would make him the only player in school history with two seasons of at least 50 blocks. His .534 field goal career field percentage also ranks him ninth all-time.
· What is behind Millersville's road struggles? A look at the numbers says that the Marauders are less aggressive at both ends on the road. Millersville is averaging almost seven rebounds (40.6-33.7), three assists (13.1-10.0) and are shooting five less free throws (29.8-24.8) on the road. it is also allowing three more assists and forcing two fewer turnovers per game on the road. At home, opponents are called for 23.5 fouls per game but just 19.6 on the road.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
· Mansfield handed Millersville one of its most lop-sided defeats of the season on Jan. 15 in Pucillo Gymnasium. Mansfield turned a two-point halftime lead into a 75-55 victory over Millersville. Millersville sank just six field goals in a ice-cold second period. Mansfield was hot from the start. It hit 6-of-9 3-pointers in the first period. It kept rolling in the second, and Millersville couldn't keep pace. Mansfield out-scored the Marauders 15-4 in the first 5:30 minutes of the half and continued to grow the lead. Millersville had no answer, shooting 6-of-27 from the field and 1-of-10 from three. Yuseff Carr totaled 16 points in just 20 minutes.
· Carr enters the game as Mansfield's leader in points and rebounds. His point and rebound averages are both down by more than 2.0 compared to last year, but he is still one of the most dominating interior forces in the league. He is 12th in the league in scoring at 14.9 points per game, and he's also 12th in rebounding at 6.9 per game. He is fourth in blocked shots with 1.9 per game. His .536 field goal percentage is 11th-highest in the league, as well. Carr averaged 20.6 points per game in his last three outings.
· Mansfield isn't an explosive offensive team, ranking 10th in scoring and 11th in field goal percentage. But it's outstanding defensively. The Mountaineers allow just 68.2 points per game and is third in the PSAC in field goal percentage defense (.412). The Mountaineers went to East Stroudsburg Wednesday and blew out the home team, 80-66 behind a career-high 25 points from Carr. Mansfield shot 48 percent from the field including 55.2 in the second half and held ESU to 39 percent shooting.
· The key to beating Mansfield is keeping its offense in check. In six of its seven losses, the Mountaineers shot under 41.0 percent from the field.
