Millersville, Pa. - After a four-game road swing, a return to Pucillo Gymnasium was just what the Millersville men's basketball team needed. The Marauders, using a balanced scoring attack and swarming defense, buried visiting Lock Haven early and coasted to an 87-52 triumph Saturday afternoon.

Millersville (4-6) entered the PSAC crossover on a four-game slide but raced in front of Lock Haven (1-9) by scoring the first 24 points of the game. The Marauders held the Bald Eagles scoreless until Shariff Bolton hit a free throw with 9:45 remaining in the first half.

Millersville had allowed nearly 79 points per game during its recent skid, but the defense came to play Saturday. With the man-to-man defense in lock-down mode, Lock Haven missed its first 18 shots from the field and committed 10 turnovers before Anthony Baker's fastbreak dunk with 5:32 left in the period gave his team its first field goal. By then, the Marauders had built a 33-3 lead. Mike Holley's layup  with 41 seconds to go pushed the Marauders' halftime lead to 43-11.

Lock Haven managed to connect on just 4-of-27 shots in the first half while the Marauders drilled 14-of-31 (45.2) from the field, 5-of-8 from long range and 10-of-13 from the line.

Millersville continued to pour it on in the second half, shooting 53.8 percent from the field and sinking 15 free throws. Lock Haven made nine threes in the half but could pull no closer than 26.

Every player on the Millersville roster scored at least two points and seven accounted for at least eight as the team produced its highest scoring effort of the season. Its previous best was 77, which was scored in the season-opening win over the same Lock Haven club.

Rob Wyley scored a season-high 13 points and also grabbed eight rebounds. Holley tied for game-high honors with 13, and he also contributed five assists while committing only one turnover. The red-hot Demond Vance added 10 to extend his streak of consecutive games scoring double figures to four. He also led the team with a career-high seven assists.

With the win the Marauders improved to 4-1 at home and have an opportunity to boost that mark Sunday against Edinboro. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. Fans can watch the action live on Millersville's All-Access video feed.
