Millersville, Pa. - For the third-straight game, the Millersville women's soccer team was kept off the scoreboard, and on Saturday at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium, Lock Haven used two goals from Madison Taylor to win 3-0 and keep the Marauders in search of their first win.
Lock Haven's (2-1, 1-1 PSAC) Amy Wittman assisted on both of Lock Haven's first half goals. Taylor was the first goal score at the 22:31 mark, and Arielle Gordon built the advantage to two with just under two minutes remaining in the first period.
The Marauders managed just two shots in the first and mustered only two more in the second. Only one of those second half shots was on goal, and Bald Eagle goalkeeper Hayley Zinn was forced to make just two stops in recording the shutout. Without much pressure from the Millersville attack, Taylor added her second goal at the 70:37 mark.
Alison Silva and
Alexis Sutton both took two shots for the Marauders. Since scoring two goals in the first half against Wilmington, the Marauders have gone 319:07 without a goal.
Kelsey Benson received the start in goal and made two saves.
Laura Reed played the second half and made one save.
Millersville hosts Mansfield on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 5 p.m.
