Hess Leads Millersville Women on Day One of Edwin Cottrell Invitational

West Chester, Pa. - Playing in its first invitational of the spring and just the third action in the history of the program, the Millersville women's golf team competed in the first round of the Edwin Cottrell Invitational Sunday at Penn Oaks Golf Club.
Victoria Hess led the three Millersville competitors with a 111 total on the par 71 course. That total put her in 22nd place in the 29-player field. Nicole Wille finished seven shots behind Hess, and Sara Weiss came in with a 124.
With five scores needed to post a team score, the Marauders competed as individuals. Concord closed round one with a sizeable lead over Mercyhurst. Concord's top four players closed round one in the top 10. Mercyhurst's Evan Parker holds the first round led with a 7-over-par 78.
