Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team took to its home courts for the first time since September, but East Stroudsburg spoiled the home opener. The visiting Warriors took the first match of PSAC East action by a 9-0 score.

East Stroudsburg (9-5, 1-0 PSAC East) scored three wins at doubles, but the Marauders (4-7, 0-1 PSAC East) kept the matches at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles close. Melissa Plowman and Shauna Powers were edged 8-6 in the No. 2 slot, and Kelsey Waite and Michelle DeStefano fell by an 8-5 score.

In singles action, Plowman nearly pulled off a victory at No. 2 singles over Katie D'Ambrosia. D'Ambrosia won the first set, 6-2. Plowman charged back for a 4-6 win in the second. D'Ambrosia, however, took the third set, 10-8.

The Marauders travel to West Chester on Friday for a PSAC East match. It is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
