Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team was held to just three shots as the Edinboro Fighting Scots scored late in the second to get a 1-0 road victory Saturday afternoon.
It was a one-sided affair for most of the evening. Edinboro (8-3-1, 5-3-1 PSAC) out-shot the Marauders (1-10-1, 0-8-1 PSAC) 20-3 in the match. Millersville was held to just one shot in the first half while the Fighting Scots fired 10 shots in both sessions.
Edinboro struck in the 74th minute by a centering pass from Devyn Agett that was put away by Amanda Bartell. It turned out to be all the Fighting Scots needed to hold off the Marauders.
Junior's Niki Roberts and Allison Snyder both generated a shot on goal for the Marauders. Taylor Suskie resumed keeper duty for the second straight game saving six shots for Millersville. Suskie was moved back to her normal role as forward with seven minutes remaining as a strategy to try and find an equalizer.
The Marauders have been held scoreless in their last three contests. Millersville's last goal was in its only win of the season against Shepherd a week ago.
Millersville will resume play Wednesday, Oct. 13 against the PSAC leading Vulcans of California (Pa.). Action is suggested to start at 5 p.m.
