Erie, Pa. – The Marauders suffer another one goal loss in their weekend travel to Erie. This time it was to the Lakers of Mercyhurst whose late goal in the first half was enough to come away with a 1-0 victory Saturday afternoon.
Junior Taylor Suskie recorded 10 saves in her effort to keep Millersville (1-15-1, 0-12-1 PSAC) in contention. Suskie has recorded 56 saves in just seven starts which ties her with teammate Kelsey Benson on the season.
Mercyhurst (7-9-1, 4-8-1 PSAC) tallied 12 shots on goal while holding the Marauders to just one. The Lakers were able to find one strike late in the first half and that was all they needed. In the 39th minute forward Aina Torres found teammate Sarah Slezak for a sliding kick that found the back of the net to give Mercyhurst its 1-0 lead and eventual game winner.
Millersville returns home Oct. 30, for its final game of the season. The Marauders take on the Rams of West Chester at 5 p.m.
