Millersville, Pa. - Holy Family's relentless attack made it a tough evening for Millersville goalkeeper
Taylor Suskie. The junior turned away eight shots and held the Tigers scoreless for 55 minutes, but eventually, Holy Family's persistence paid off in the form of two second half goals. The 2-0 win for Holy Family was its seventh in a row.
The red-hot Tigers (10-4-1) fired 21 shots including 12 in a second-half onslaught. Suskie and Millersville's (1-13-1) back line played well early. Suskie made five saves in the first half and the defense deflected several more shots.
Holy Family's leading goal scorer, freshman Megan Tole, pestered Millersville's defense all even, and finally at the 55:37 mark, she beat Suskie with her 13th of the season, breaking a scoreless tie. Fewer than nine minutes later, Jillian Shank assisted Dawn Curry for added insurance.
Millersville totaled nine shots but put only three on goal. Tiger keeper Gina Mansi her third shutout of the season.
Allison Snyder led Millersville with three shots, two of which were on goal.
Millersville travels to Erie, Pa., for a weekend back-to-back against Gannon and Mercyhurst beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
