Shippensburg, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team was held scoreless for the eighth time this season as it fell to Shippensburg 3-0 Saturday evening.
The Marauders (1-12-1, 0-10-1 PSAC) were unable to solve the attack of the Lady Raiders. Shippensburg (9-5-1, 6-5-0 PSAC) fired 11 of its 19 shots on goal while Millersville was held to just six shots on goal.
The Lady Raiders found the back of the net in the 34th minute when Rachel Hess took a flip throw pass by teammate Meghan Mahon and put Shippensburg up 1-0 to end the first half.
It took Ship two minutes into the second half to extend their lead to 2-0 when Amanda Greenawalt scored off a Mahon pass--her second assist of the evening. Shippensburg would find its third and final goal in the 67th minute off a blocked shot rebound by Ashley Vellucci.
Taylor Suskie finished the evening with six saves for Millersville. The Marauders had five different players record a shot on goal.
Millersville returns home for a match against Holy Name on Oct. 19. Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
