ABOUT THE GAME
• Millersville plays its second-straight PSAC East road game Saturday at Decker Gymnasium against Mansfield. The Marauders are looking to bounce back from a close 57-52 loss at Cheyney. A win would even Millersville's PSAC East record at 3-3 and would pull them into the mix for one of the four playoff spots.
• The Marauders have lost three of the last four and have not scored more than 63 points in any of those games. Millersville is 4-2 when scoring 66 or more this year. The Marauders have allowed just 62.9 points per game in their seven victories and 70.4 points per game in their 11 losses.
• On Wednesday, the Marauders were led by
Jason Blake, who scored his 16 on 6-of-14 shooting, giving him double-figures in seven-straight games. He also led the team with nine rebounds.
Alen Ahmetovic played an efficient game, totaling nine points, eight rebounds and three assists while not committing a turnover.
Jim Kelleher scored all nine of his points from behind the arc and grabbed a career-high four rebounds.
• Of Kelleher's 18 field goals, 16 are 3-pointers. He is shooting a respectable 16-of-46 from deep and is just 2-of-4 from two.
Alen Ahmetovic has recorded at least seven rebounds in five-straight games and is averaging 8.8 rebounds per game of that stretch. he has also totaled at least one offensive rebound in 17 of 18 games this year.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
• At times, Mansfield has looked like the top team in the PSAC East. The Mountaineers opened league play with three-straight wins including a 94-87 victory over then-No. 2 Kutztown. But since, Mansfield lost 89-75 at West Chester and suffered a 67-65 heartbreaker in overtime at No. 22 East Stroudsburg. Both losses came on the road, though, and Mansfield has been solid at home, posting a 7-2 record and averaging 86.0 points per game.
• Mansfield is one of the top scoring teams in the league, ranked fifth at 79.6 points per game. It has struggled defensively, though, allowing 73.2 points per game and ranking 13th in the PSAC. Its average of 16.6 points per game is third best in the league.
• Mansfield features a balanced scoring attack that is led by big man Yuseff Carr. He is averaging 15.9 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Ryan Callahan is not far behind with 15.7 points per game, and he is the team leader in assists with 55. Tony Fanick is averaging 12.5 points per game, and Chris Pender is a deep threat, hitting 42 3-pointers this year.
THE SERIES
• Millersville and Mansfield are meeting for the 130th time Saturday. Millersville holds a commanding 79-50 lead in the all-time series that dates back to 1933. Millersville won the first 10 meetings between 1933 and 1947. During the
Fred Thompson era, the Marauders are 14-9 against Mansfield, but the Mountaineers won a pair of close games last season, ending a five-game Millersville winning streak.
• In 2009, Millersville led by eight at home with 4:45 left in the game but lost to Mansfield, 63-59. In the regular season finale, the teams stood tied at 72 with a minute left, and Mansfield pulled away with a 6-2 run to defeat Millersville, 78-74.
