Bloomsburg, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team was eliminated from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Team Championship Friday after losing 5-1 to Bloomsburg in the semifinals.
Three of the singles matches were left uncompleted, because, in an effort to speed up the time of the competition, the PSAC officials call the match as soon as the winning team earns enough points to clinch the victory. Therefore, any matches in progress at the time Bloomsburg won its fifth point were halted. Since doubles matches were played first, they were all completed.
This is the second straight year Millersville has made the PSAC Team Championships. Freshmen
Donald Swantko and
Henry Ben combined to win the only match for the Marauders in the tournament, an 8-5 doubles match versus Bloomsburg's Jeff Nuhfer and Alan Hummel.
The Marauders will face Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon in the third-place match.
