Box Score
Millersville, Pa. — Laura Wingert scored with less than 10 minutes to play in the game and visiting Elizabethtown College held on for a 1-0 win over the Millersville women's soccer team on Saturday evening at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.
The Marauders (2-10) generated chances throughout the first half, outshooting the Blue Jays (5-5), 8-4. What the home team couldn't find, for the sixth time this season, was a goal. E-Town keeper Jess Manchak turned aside four MU shots over the first 45 minutes.
Millersville's
Brandi Tipton did her part in goal as well, registering a save on the only first half shot she faced, and denying three more attempts in the second half.
Wingert's game-winning goal came off a feed from Ellen Parr at 80:01. That left little time for the Marauders to mount a rally. MU couldn't help its cause as it failed to take a shot on goal in the remaining 9:59 of regulation.
The Marauders held a 13-12 shot advantage for the game and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks, but failed to finish the deal. Manchak recorded her third shutout of the season for the Blue Jays.
Millersville returns to action Tuesday night at Bloomsburg. Game time is 6 p.m.
