Box Score
Millersville, Pa. — A goal 8:44 into the game by
Allison Snyder proved to be enough as the Millersville women's soccer team beat Mansfield 1-0 at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium on Tuesday night.
The win gave Millersville (4-11-1, 2-7-1 PSAC East) points in three of its last four games.
Jenna Lininger's great effort along the sidelines paid off, as she set up Snyder's second goal of the season. After beating a Mountaineers' (4-10-1, 2-8-1 PSAC East) defender, Lininger crossed the ball to a cutting Snyder, who found herself wide open in the middle of the box. Snyder rifled the ball into the upper left corner of the net past Mansfield keeper Alexis Wilhelm.
Goalkeeper
Taylor Suskie turned aside two Mountaineer shots in the second half, but neither team mounted any sustained offensive pressure. Millersville outshot Mansfield 7-3 and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Millersville will take on Wilmington tomorrow afternoon in Delaware before wrapping up its home slate next Wednesday against Kutztown.
