Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team fought through a rain-soaked contest against the visiting PSAC Eastern Division foe Shippensburg Saturday afternoon, but  fell 3-1 in a game that saw Shippensburg control the action most of the match.
The Lady Raiders got the scoring started in the 21st minute when  freshman Emily Andrews took a cross from junior Gayle Kuntzmann and put it into the net to give the Raiders the early lead. 
The Raiders stayed in charge from that point, outshooting  the Marauders 19-4.
Late in the 32nd minute, Kuntzmann was tripped up as she drove to the goal, giving Shippensburg a penalty kick. Senior goalkeeper 
Jaime Lancaster blocked the kick but Kuntzmann capitalized on the deflection and knocked in the  game's second goal. 
The Marauders finally got on the board right before the  half as 
Jamie Fooy scored when she deflected a 
Sarah Cameron shot into the back of the net. But Shippensburg sealed the match in the 72nd minute as Alison Dowdrick took a centering pass from Kuntzmann.
The Marauders (4-6 overall, 1-4 PSAC East) have now dropped four in a row including two to conference opponents. Next up for Millersville is a trip to Bloomsburg. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
