Millersville, Pa. – Kutztown forward Raven Chiara's first half goal was all the Golden Bears needed as they held on to defeat Millersville, 1-0 Wednesday evening at Beimesderfer Stadium.

Chiara took a feed from Chelsea Bressler just over 30 minutes (30:28) into the game and drove the ball past Millersville goalie Jaime Lancaster for what turned out to be the only score of the game. Lancaster finished the game with four saves.

Millersville (4-3), ranked 10 th in the most recent regional rankings, saw plenty of opportunities throughout the game but could not come up with an answer. The Marauders outshot the Golden Bears 13-7 and tested Kutztown goalie Steph Addleman several times in the second half.

Just over 15 minutes into the second half, Millersville midfielder Olivia Taylor delivered a corner kick that forward Taylor Suskie was able to put on goal with a header only to see Addleman make a terrific diving save.

Millersville tested the Golden Bear defense again late with a shot by Taylor ringing off the crossbar and a follow-up shot by Suskie flying wide.

Millersville falls to 1-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division and will travel to Edinboro on Saturday for a PSAC crossover game beginning at 1 p.m.
