Box Score

Millersville, Pa. - The 17th-ranked Millersville Marauders men's soccer team helped celebrate youth soccer night at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium by having a showcase of their underclassmen talent in a defeat 3-2 defeat of California (Pa.).

Although the Marauders did win the match, they were not the first on the board as PSAC leading scorer Mike Luecke converted on a Shakir McCoy cross past Millersville keeper Matt Langione just before the 10th minute to give the Vulcans the early 1-0 lead.

The Marauders added offensive pressure and in the 33rd minute, freshman Dan Prian took a cross from senior Sean McLaughlin to tie the match at 1-1.

The Marauders did not waste any time as in the 37th minute freshman Pat Bafutto converted on a rebound from fellow freshman Eric Pepper to give the marauders their first lead of the game.

California kept the game interesting, though. Shakir McCoy, who notched the assist in California's first goal, scored a goal of his own when he took a pass from Drake Dorm and slipped it by Langione to tie the game at 2-2.

Not wanting to extend the game into overtime, Millersville senior #Ryan Kiley# reclaimed the Marauders' lead as in the 84th minute when he took a pass from freshman Ethan Daubert and knocked it past Vulcan goalie Charlie Dagnal to seal the Millersville victory.

The PSAC Crossover win snapped Millersville's two-match losing streak against the PSAC Western Division. The Marauders, are now 9-2 overall and it's No. 17 national ranking is the highest in school history.

The Marauders return to Eastern Division play on Tuesday when West Chester visits Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.
