Marauders Unable to Generate Offense in Loss to East Stroudsburg

Box Score

Millersville, Pa.
– The Millersville women's soccer team fought hard against East Stroudsburg, but the Warriors used a quick second half goal to propel themselves to a 1-0 PSAC Eastern Division win on Tuesday night at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.

The first half proved to be an offensive struggle for both sides as neither team found the back of the net in the first 45 minutes. East Stroudsburg (9-5-3, 5-4-2 PSAC East) would quickly change that though as Lynda Hicks was able to beat Marauder keeper Jaime Lancaster just 18 seconds into the second half. Hicks, the Warriors leading scorer, added to her season total as the tally was her 14th of the season.

Millersville (5-10-3, 1-7-3 PSAC East) continued to find offensive opportunities tough to come by throughout the second half. The Marauders managed only two shots in the final half.

Lancaster was solid once again for Millersville as she turned away six East Stroudsburg shots on the night.

The Marauders wrap up the 2008 campaign on Homecoming Weekend this Saturday night when they take on Bloomsburg in a PSAC East matchup at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
