Millersville Swimming to Host Swim Clinic with Olympic Gold Medalist Josh Davis
October 2, 2008
Millersville, Pa. – On Sunday, Nov. 2, the Millersville University women's swimming team will host the Mutual of Omaha BREAKout! Swim Clinic that features former Olympic Gold Medalist and world record holder Josh Davis.
Registration for the event is free and begins immediately and participants cane sign up until Oct. 31. Participation is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The BREAKout! Swim Clinic is intended to help swimmers break bad habits, build new skills and uncover hidden talent.
Those attended the clinic will receive technique instruction on all four strokes, a lesson on how the body, mind and heart affect swimming and an opportunity to train with the world's top swimmers. Participants will be able to ask questions, take photos and receive autographs from Davis. Each swimmer will receive a t-shirt, poster, DVD and other souvenirs.
Davis competed in two Olympic Games, totaling five medals. His three gold medals came at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He became the only man in any sport from any nation at the Atlanta Games to win three gold medals. Davis was also the United States swim team captain in 2000 and carried the flag at the opening ceremony. He captured two silver medals at the Sydney Games.
