Millersville alumnus and former cross country team captain Adam Malloy returned to the Marauders as a volunteer cross country coach prior to the 2016-17 season.
The Ephrata, Pa., native graduated with a degree in elementary education with a minor in athletic coaching at Millersville in 2009. Malloy was a three time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference runner in cross country and track and field. While captaining the Marauders, he earned a spot on the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team.
Malloy attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., as a graduate student and a volunteer assistant for the school’s track and field coaching staff. While Malloy coached at JMU, the cross country team won the Colonial Athletic Association championship in 2010 and the track and field team won the CAA steeplechase championship. Malloy graduated from JMU in 2011 with an M.S. in kinesiology.
Malloy accepted the head coaching position for women’s cross country at Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 2011. In 2012, he became the head coach for men and women’s cross country and the assistant track coach for distance runners.
Malloy spent the 2013-2014 season as the head coach for Brevard College’s cross country and track and field teams.
Malloy currently works for Newell Rubbermaid and resides in the Lancaster area.
