Tom Mayersky joined the Millersville coaching staff in 2009 as a volunteer assistant and brought with him more than 30 years of coaching experience
A long-time assistant at the high school level, Mayersky's involvement with the Millersville football program dates to 1982 when he joined Coach Gene Carpenter's staff as a graduate assistant. He served in that capacity for three years until the completion of his master's degree. Mayersky also spent the 1999 season as an assistant defensive line coach.
Mayersky formally rejoined the program in 2009, and in his time with the Marauders, he has served as a scout, recruiter, film evaluator, assisted in game planning and film exchange.
Mayersky received his bachelor's degree in 1973 from Midland College in Fremont, Neb. He was a standout on the field, lettering three times as a defensive tackle and led the team in tackles each of his final two seasons. Twice Mayersky was named All-Nebraska Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team, and he was a District 11 NAIA selection twice.
Now retired from teaching physical education and health teacher in the Oxford Area School District, Mayersky's coaching career began under former Millersville assistant Bill Vroman at West Branch High School. Over the next 20-plus years, he assisted the football programs at Bellwood Antis, Tyrone, Oxford, Solanco and Avon Grove.
Mayersky currently resides in Lancaster, Pa., with his wife Candy. The couple has three children: Lauren, Ryan and Andrew.
