Roland Weeden

Roland Weeden enters his fifth year on staff and his first as the tight ends and offensive tackles coach in 2013.

Weeden coached running backs for two seasons and the defensive line for two seasons. In his first year with the Marauders, he coach Brad Lantz to a productive season of 750 yards, and his top two backs combined to total more than 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns.

In 2011, he took over the defensive line and developed a scrappy, productive bunch, helping the team total 15 sacks and 69 tackles for loss. He guided the transition of Daniel Jones to Reggie Slaton from linebacker to defensive end.

In the two years before coming to Millersville, Weeden coached the running backs at Cheyney and spent three seasons as the running backs coach at Fairleigh Dickinson. Weeden also coached three years at the Williamson Trade School.

Weeden began his coaching career at North East High School in North East, Md., where he coached from 1996-97. From 1998-2000, he coached at Elkton High School.

He was also a collegiate athlete, playing football at both Ferrum College and Mansfield University.

Weeden graduated from Wilmington College in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science. Weeden currently resides in Elkton, Md., with his wife Cassandra. The couple has two sons, Jared and Brian.
