MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released its 2026–27 Division II individual and team preseason rankings, with Millersville ranking No. 24 in the team rankings and four Marauders earning spots in the individual top 15.
Richie DeFulvio leads the Marauders, earning the No. 5 ranking in the 157-pound weight class. DeFulvio is coming off a national championship appearance, where he finished with a 1–2 record. The New Jersey native placed second at Super Region 1, clinching a spot in the national championships and earning Second Team All-PSAC honors.
Jack Weldon returns for his sophomore season ranked No. 10 in the 174-pound weight class. Weldon made an impact during his freshman campaign, taking over the 174-pound spot for the Marauders and placing sixth at Super Region 1. The sophomore finished two victories shy of qualifying for the national championships.
Jaxon Townsend ranks No. 11 in the 197-pound weight class. Townsend finished the season with a 13–11 record and came within one match of qualifying for the national tournament. One of his standout performances came against Pitt-Johnstown's top-ranked Bradley Morrison, whom Townsend defeated by fall.
Nick Cottone rounds out Millersville's ranked wrestlers at No. 14. Cottone began his redshirt junior season at 133 pounds before moving back to 141 pounds during the second half of the year. He made an impressive run at the Midwest Classic, one of the premier Division II tournaments outside the national championships. Cottone placed fifth at Super Region 1 last season and will look to build on that performance in his final season as he pursues a spot in the national championships.
Millersville opens its season at the Glenville Open on Nov. 1.
