INDIANA, Pa. --- Millersville women's basketball (4-7, 0-5 PSAC) fell to undefeated Indiana University of Pennsylvania (12-0, 5-0 PSAC) in their second game of a long road trip after the holiday break on Saturday afternoon.
The Crimson Hawks erupted for 45 first-half points courtesy of an opening 14-4 run to open the game and ended the first quarter on a 9-0 run.
Daniella Ranieli accounted for five of the 12 first-quarter points for the Marauders with a made three-pointer and a layup. The Crimson Hawks went into the halftime break leading the Marauders 45-21.
Indiana went 4 of 9 from three in the third quarter to extend their lead further going into the fourth, and despite their best efforts, the Marauders were unable to mount a comeback against the leader of a strong Western PSAC division.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Daniella Ranieli led the way for the Marauders with 11 points, two assists, and a steal while shooting 50.0% from three-point range.
- Following Ranieli were Carley Berk (nine points and three rebounds) and Morgan Mahoney (eight points and four rebounds).
- The Marauders were out-rebounded 47-31.
- The Crimson Hawks capitalized on the Marauders' 21 turnovers and generated 26 points off turnovers in today's match-up.
The Marauders return to Pucillo Gymnasium for their next game Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. against PSAC East rival East Stroudsburg.
