The Marauders and Lions opened the first set in a back-and-forth battle, trading points early to a tied score at 8-8. Millersville then found its rhythm, stringing together five straight points, highlighted by a pair of aces from

Set two began with a long rally that eventually went in Lincoln's favor, but Millersville responded immediately with a 6-0 run to take an early 6-1 lead. The two teams traded points in the middle of the set, and the Lions briefly found momentum, scoring three straight to narrow the gap to one. However, the Marauders quickly regained control with a five-point burst. Leading 19-12, Millersville closed out the set with another dominant stretch, as
Alex Nava and Welter fueled a final 5-0 run to secure the second set.
Smith made lineup adjustments in the third set, inserting
Sidonia Cecco and
Hailey Lazur into the rotation. The Marauders didn't miss a beat, exploding for a 13-0 scoring run powered by multiple aces from

"Everybody is getting better," said Smith, "I'm pleased with the progress of the underclass. It takes awhile and we got to utilize some of them tonight."Â
The Marauders' next match is Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. when they travel to face Owls from Southern Connecticut State University.Â
