PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - In preparation for the 2025-26 season, the Millersville University cheer team attended the UCA College Camp hosted at Temple University and returned with three awards, including first-place trophies in two categories.
The team, coached by 'Ville alums Daniela DeBernardo and Taylor Ochmanowicz, competed in the All Girl Open Division against seven other teams and earned first place for overall gameday routine and first place in the fight song competition. The team's performance also received the Collegiate Recognition Award.
"Taylor and I were stopped by multiple college coaches, athletes, and staff during camp to let us know how impressed they were with our program," said DeBernardo. "We received many compliments on the team's sportsmanship, growth, and culture. Some of the most established people from across our industry stopped us to say they are rooting for us and are following along with our rise to program success. We are extremely proud of the way these athletes represented Millersville University on such a large scale in the college cheerleading world and how they are creating a name for themselves."
The team's performance at UCA College Camp follows their impressive sixth-place finish in the All Girl Game Day Division at the 2025 UCA College National Championship in Orlando. Millersville fans can see the cheer team at home football, basketball and wrestling events, and the team is set to represent the University at nationals again in 2026.
