| By:
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - After reaching the PSAC Tournament in 2024, the Millersville women's volleyball team was voted fifth in the PSAC Eastern Division by the conference's coaches in the annual PSAC Preseason Poll.

The Marauders finished 2024 with a 7-7 in-division record, returning to the postseason for the first time since 2019. While the team lost record-breaking setter Emma Ludwig to graduation, it returns four players who recorded over 100 kills as well as blocks leader Carolina Halsey. Kylee Shurig was the 2024 PSAC East Freshman of the Year after ranking third on the team in kills and first in aces. Taylor Welter is the top returning offensive force after totaling 329 kills last season.

There was parity at the top of both division's preseason polls. In the East, Shepherd took the top spot with four first-place votes, but East Stroudsburg and Shippensburg also received two votes each. Three teams in the West received at least one first-place vote. Gannon landed in the No. 1 spot with four. Gannon reached the NCAA quarterfinals while IUP won the conference championship.

Millersville slotted in just behind Bloomsburg in the poll. Bloomsburg went 6-8 in the division last season and finished fifth. Millersville is led by Brian Smith, who enters his 16th season at the helm and his 215 wins ranks first in program history.
