Marauders prepare for Millersville Invite at Shippensburg Midweek Invite

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Marauders traveled west to Shippensburg for the annual Shippensburg Midweek Invite, sending some athletes over for a warmup ahead of this weekend's home meet.

NOTABLE RESULTS

Megan Malecki had her best day of the outdoor season so far, winning the pole vault event with a height of 12-1 1/2. The senior now holds the second-best mark in the conference, trailing first place by only 1/2 inch.
The Marauders swept the top three spots in the hammer throw, with Sarah Hessler winning the event, and Maddy Downs and Seya Trujillo following up in second and third place. None of them set any new PSAC or NCAA marks, but the trio stand in second, third, and fourth place in the conference, respectively.
Hessler and Downs' dominance carried over from hammer throw to the shot put and discus, with Hessler winning both and Downs picking up a third- and second-place finish. In the shot put, Hessler tallied a 42-0 3/4 throw, while Downs clocked in with 39-3 1/4. In the discus, Hessler won with 148-0 and Downs was right behind her with 146-4. The two currently stand as the top two athletes in the conference in the discus as well.

The Marauders conclude the week with their second home meet of the season, the Millersville Invite. The meet starts at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 at Biemesderfer Stadium.
