LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - He hasn't even played two full seasons of collegiate golf, and already, Timothy Peters is a seven-time tournament winner. On Wednesday, he became a five-time PSAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week.
It is Peters' third weekly award of the 2024-25 season. This week's recognition came after he won the 36-hole Vulcan Fire Classic at Lone Pines Country Club in Washington, Pa. Peters closed the first day of action in a tie for first place at 3-over-par, but he shot a 3-under-par 69 on Tuesday to win the event by four shots.
Last season, Peters posted a 74.1 scoring average, which ranks second in program history, and he's on pace to beat that mark and challenge Connor Sheehan's program record of 72.7. Peters has won three of his seven starts, finished in the top 10 in all seven, and owns a 72.3 scoring average through 14 rounds.
