
Vogelbacher's flawless performance leads to PSAC recognition

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Andrew Vogelbacher had a flawless 3–0 PSAC showing at 174-pounds against Shippensburg, Pitt-Johnstown, and Seton Hill to clinch his first-ever PSAC Athlete of the Week recognition.
The redshirt junior had an 11–2 major decision win over Cole Lang from Shippensburg. Vogelbacher shot for a takedown in the first period to go up 3–0. Lang had an escape in the second period to close the gap slightly but Vogelbacher put on a third period showdown. He had an escape, two takedowns, and an added point for riding time to seal the victory.
Vogelbacher earned a 4-2 decision over Anthony Salopek from Pitt-Johnstown. Explosive from the beginning, Vogelbacher had the first and only takedown. The only point secured in the second period was another escape from Salopeck. Vogelbacher opted to start in the down position to start the third period and managed to escape to win.
In the final dual, the 174-pounder fought for a 7–3 decision win over Kane Kettering from Seton Hill. Aggressive from the get-go, Vogelbacher accumulated two takedowns and secured the extra bonus point of riding time to prevail.
Vogelbacher missed the beginning part of the season but has provided a boost to the lineup. The Marauder holds a 7–3 record and has won his last five duals.
